Minnesota’s Cheapest Grocery Chain Cuts Prices on 250 Items
If you're a typical American household, you're shelling out over $1,000 monthly on groceries, which seems outrageous and forces many to cut back on their shopping lists. Unfortunately, major food corporations like Kraft, General Mills, Coke, Pepsi, and Hershey's don’t seem to care.
Even though these companies are selling fewer products, they're still raking in massive profits because of hefty markups. This shift in strategy is detailed in a Forbes article, featuring a quote from the Kraft Heinz CEO that sums it all up: "We are not going to be chasing volume. We're going to be looking to drive profitable volume."
According to USA Today, families with kids spend an average of $331 on groceries each week.
Minnesota's most affordable grocery store is easing the burden by lowering prices even further on over 250 items until Labor Day. They say this will save customers a total of $100 million.

What Is The Cheapest Place To Get Groceries in Minnesota?
Aldi comes in first on a list of the Seven Cheapest Grocery Stores in the U.S. Founded in 1961, the chain now operates 2,000 stores in 39 U.S. states, including 74 locations in Minnesota.
They recently announced they will cut prices on 250 already budget-friendly seasonal items like picnic must-haves, BBQ staples, on-the-go snacks, and healthier food options.

Aldi says it can do this because of its business model and strategies.
They attribute their ability to maintain profitability without significant markups to their quarter cart system, the practice of displaying products in their original packaging, and the compact size of their stores, which enable efficient operations.
Dave Rinaldo, President at ALDI U.S. said the company always wants to save customers money.
“ALDI is always looking for ways to help customers save money, but with more experts warning of persistent inflation, the time was right to deliver even greater discounts on our already low prices for the second year in a row.”
Rinaldo said ALDI will feature discounts on popular summer items like snacks and grilling essentials.
