After being on the market for years, the iconic Minnesota restaurant called Betty Danger's finally sold this past December. It was originally listed in 2020, didn't sell, and then was re-listed in 2022.

Finally, in 2024, it sold, but not the naming rights. No, the owner of Betty Danger's didn't want to sell 'Betty Danger's' but she wanted to sell the building, the lot, and the ferris wheel for someone to start a new restaurant.

What's Replacing Betty Danger's

The Minnesota Star Tribune says that after Joe spent a few years in Austin, TX, he was really inspired by their food scene. So he decided he wanted to bring it to Minnesota.

Inside the restaurant, it's pink, red, and white with southern-style art and lots of open space after the renovations. There's still going to be the mini golf course and the ferris wheel from Betty Danger's but, of course, re-done in a way to fit the theme of Big Star Tipsy Taco Bar.

There's tons of outdoor seating space along with garage doors that can be opened on a nice day.

But wait, there's more! There's also a 'sky patio', a karaoke lounge, and they hope to add an outdoor screen this fall. It sounds like it's going to continue to be a fun spot like Betty Danger's was!

What's on the Menu at Big Star Tipsy Taco Bar in Minneapolis

They have their menu up on their website already. it features plenty of appetizers, sharable appetizers, mains, desserts, and cocktails.

The appetizers seemed to be priced between $13 and $18 and the mains between $19 and $32. They'll also serve individual tacos ranging in price from $7 to $10.

Their cocktails sound really interesting. The bar manager spoke with the Star Tribune and said, '"We'll have harder to find, or a little more obscure, choices but we'll have a good selection to make everybody happy.'"

For example, there's apparently a drink called Peace, Love, and Margarita that's made with dandelion liqueur. I didn't even know something like that existed!

It will be super cool to see the final touches soon. Big Star Tipsy Taco Bar has plans to open sometime this spring but I haven't seen an official opening date yet.
