New York Public Theater is stopping in Minnesota this week to perform their award-winning play "Sweat" for FREE!

"Sweat" was nominated for three Tony Awards in 2017 and the playwright, Lynn Nottage, won a Pulitzer Prize, also in 2017.

Bring Me the News writes that "the play, set in a bar in Pennsylvania, is about a group of old friends who work together at a local factory and suddenly find themselves pitted against each other as workers start getting laid off."

The touring branch of the New York Public Theater is called Mobile Unit. They stage their "professional theater productions in local neighborhood venues such as libraries, homeless shelters, and community centers."

This is the first time Mobile Unit will be stopping in the Midwest. While in Minnesota this week they'll be performing in Mankato, Rochester, St. Cloud. All for free!

The Rochester performance is happening on Friday at 6pm. The performance will take place at the Heintz Center Commons (1926 Collegeview Road E.). Request your tickets at or via phone at (507) 282-9951.

FYI, it is recommended for ages 16+.
