Summer is officially here when some of our favorite summer spots announce their opening dates.  When those announcements involve delicious food and desserts, all memories or horrible snowstorms and temps in the negatives all seem to fade from our Minnesota memories.  Here are three spots in Minnesota that have shared when they will be opening their doors and gates for your summer enjoyment, including one of the most popular pie shops in Southeast Minnesota!

Aroma Pie Shoppe in Whalan is Reopening for the Summer

This pie shop by Lanesboro, Minnesota is the reason why some people actually ride a bike.  For some, it may be the only reason. If you haven't had a chance to visit and taste the deliciousness that is made at the Aroma Pie Shoppe, you are in luck because they are opening back up on Memorial Day weekend.  You can find their location and hours on their Facebook page.

Valleyfair is Opening on May 22nd

One of Minnesota's biggest entertainment venues, Valleyfair, will be opening their gates on May 22nd.  Before you hop in the car though with the kids, there are changes in place due to COVID protocols, including reservations.  Learn more about the changes in place and how to secure a reservation here.

Drive-in Movies are Returning to Rochester This Summer

One good thing that came out of the pandemic was the fact that a lost treasure, drive-in movies, came back to us.  Grab some snacks, your blanket, the family, and enjoy a night at the movies!  You can see what is playing and how to grab tickets for the theater at the Olmsted County Historical Society here.  A twist to that is Movies in the Park where you can bring some chairs, blankets, and enjoy a movie in a park in downtown Rochester.  Learn more about Movies in the Park here.
