Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The man accused of a stabbing in Rochester last summer has worked out a plea deal with Olmsted County prosecutors to settle three criminal cases.

29-year-old Edgar Barrientos entered a guilty plea Thursday to a felony terroristic threats charge stemming from a stabbing and robbery that occurred last July in the parking lot of a southeast Rochester hotel. The victim in the case was a Houston teenager, who was not seriously wounded. The original complaint against Barrientos in the case included first-degree aggravated robbery and second degree assault charges.

Barrientos also admitted to felony charges of weapons possession and fleeing police in connection with an incident in October of last year that also resulted in a felony drug charge against him. The plea agreement also covered charges stemming from another criminal offense last May that resulted in a felony stalking charge. He is scheduled to be sentenced for all three cases in May.

Meanwhile, a presentence investigation has been ordered for a St. Cloud man who also pleaded guilty Thursday to charges connected to the stabbing case involving Barrientos. 20-year-old Mahleek Pilarski admitted to a first-degree aggravated robbery and the simple robbery charges through an agreement that resulted in the dismissal of a second degree assault charge.

He and Barrientos were among the five men charged in the case.
