Protest Brings Minneapolis Rush Hour to a Complete Stop
The image above is a still-frame from a MnDot Traffic Cam in Minneapolis. A protest by striking janitors resulted in complete gridlock this morning. The group shut down a busy area near the Convention Center where traffic comes off of I-35 and I-94. Traffic was backed up for miles on both westbound I-94 and northbound I-35.
The Minnesota State Patrol set up detours this morning to help alleviate the congestion.
Union Janitors went on strike yesterday. Today's protest involved non-union members. They are seeking wage increases, workload limits, and also want more sick days.
