Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Is it the end of the line for Rochester’s Silver Lake swimming pool?

The Parks and Recreation Dept. is recommending the pool be shut down for good and replaced with "an interactive water feature.”

The department says the recommendation was made “after years of ongoing challenges in maintaining the 62 year old facility.” Challenges include flat attendance and excessive maintenance and concerns that “major breakdowns are imminent.”

The recommendation is scheduled to be reviewed and discussed at the City Council’s study session Monday afternoon.
