Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An alert neighbor might have prevented a mobile home from going up in flames this morning in Rochester. The neighbor called 911 just before 10:15 a.m. and reported seeing smoke coming from a residence in the Hallmark Terrace Mobile Home Park along 55th Street Northeast.

When Rochester Firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered a mattress smoldering in a bedroom. They quickly extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading before ventilating the mobile home and investigating the cause, which remains under investigation.

The damage, which was limited to the bedroom, was estimated at around $5000. One person in the residence was checked for smoke inhalation at the scene but did not require further treatment.
