Rochester Man Competing on TV Series
Jeff Wagenaar has been making knives for 10 years, and now we will get to see his skill on tv. He will be competing on "Forged in Fire."
The competition series tests some of the best in the field as they attempt to re-create some of history's most iconic edged weapons. Each episode features 4 bladesmiths going head to head to earn the title of Forged in Fire Champion and a prize of $10,000. According to the Forged in Fire website, the competitors "use sweat, fire, force of will, and a well-equipped forge to turn raw material into authentic, fully functional implements of war."
Jeff will go for the title on Tuesday, March 20th. The show airs on the History Channel at 8pm. You can join his viewing party at Tilly's, and possibly take home one of his custom-made knives!
"Forged in Fire" is hosted by weapons expert and U.S. Army and Air Force veteran Wil Willis. The weapons are judged based on strength and sharpness. David Baker, Doug Marcaida, and ABS Master Bladesmiths J. Neilson & Jason Knight are on the judges panel.
