Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  It was a close call for a Rochester man Tuesday as his vehicle was run over by a semi-truck.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a car driven by 36-year-old Shali Harun Rashid had stopped “in the lane of traffic” on northbound Highway 52 in Rochester near the 6th St bridge for some reason.

Another car driven by 38-year-old Layla Hussein Jimale of Rochester rear-ended Rashid’s vehicle, pushing it into the path of an oncoming semi-truck. The State Patrol says the truck ran over the top of the car, knocking it onto its roof.

Rashid was taken to nearby St Marys Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Jimale and the truck driver were not hurt.

The wreck happened around 8:00 PM and affected traffic for about an hour.
