Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester motorists are now paying over a dollar more for a gallon of gasoline than they were a year ago.

Local stations increased the price of regular by 20 cents a gallon on Tuesday.

The price as of Wednesday morning stood at $3.35 a gallon. According to GasBuddy Minnesota, that’s the highest it’s been since the summer of 2014.

The statewide average price for regular was $3.25 as of Wednesday morning. The price was $3.07 a month ago and $2.30 at this time a year ago.

Prices will likely continue rising due to wholesale increases in the cost of crude oil and gasoline.
