Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Three local school administrators, including Rochester Public Schools Superintendent Michael Munoz, are among 36 school officials nationwide to earn a National Superintendent Certification this year. Munoz, along with Byron Superintendent Jeff Elstad and Pine Island Superintendent Tammy Berg-Beniak, recently completed the certification program.

“I am honored to receive my National Superintendent Certification,” said Superintendent Muñoz. “I have been passionate about education all of my life. I am proud of the work that completed during the process.”

The 18-month National Superintendent Certification program was launched in 2013 to help school administrators develop “real world” skills, including building and managing budgets, mastering effective communication and political skills. It was created by the AASA School Superintendents Association in cooperation with the National School Boards Association and business leaders.
