Rochester Woman Arrested After Man Slashed With Scissors

Rochester,  MN (KROC-AM News) - A weekend domestic altercation at a downtown Rochester hotel resulted in the arrest of a 48-year-old Rochester woman.

Rochester Interim Police Chief John Sherwin says Veronica Vanmaanen is accused of grabbing a pair of scissors and slashing the arm of her 55-year-old boyfriend after the couple got into an argument in a guest room at the Day’s Inn just east of the Methodist Hospital. The incident was reported around 3:45 am on Saturday.

The man’s injuries were described by police as superficial, while Vanmaanen was taken into custody on suspicion of 2nd-degree assault.
