Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman has entered into a plea agreement in Mower County to settle charges stemming from a fatal drug overdose last year. Court records show 40-year-old Desiree Franken admitted to a second-degree manslaughter charge yesterday through a deal that will result in the dismissal of 3rd-degree murder and felony drug charges.

Franken was accused of supplying heroin to an Austin woman who was found dead from a drug overdose on June 7th, 2017. The criminal complaint says investigators found text messages on the victim’s phone regarding the purchase of 3 grams of heroin from Franken the night before her death.

Franken is scheduled to be sentenced on January 31st.
