I've had it for over 10 years now, but it's going away this weekend. So, take one last glance now before it's gone!

It is, quite literally, the WORST PASSPORT PICTURE IN MINNESOTA. And it's mine. Actually, it's both the worst passport picture both here in Minnesota AND back in my home state of Wisconsin, because that's where I had the picture taken.

It was back in late December of 2008 that I stopped into the Chippewa County Courthouse in Chippewa Falls, WI, where the fine staff there helped me fill out the form to get my first-ever passport. They also snapped this fine picture of me.

But, I'm sorry, it's awful. It looks more like the mugshot of someone wanted for some kind of horrible crime. I'm not kidding. I mean, in the first place, I weighed about 45 pounds more back then than I do now. Then, for some strange reason, the picture has a strange shadow on it that makes my face look like it's almost swollen on one side. And, of course, you're not supposed to smile for an official passport photo, so I'm sporting what appears to be a scowl.

Luckily for me, that passport is now expired. And since we're planning a trip to Italy and Spain later this summer, I have to get a new one. Which means THIS monstrosity is being mailed back to the State Department later this weekend along with my passport renewal forms-- and a new, better picture. Hopefully.

Before it goes away, though, take one last look at The World's Worst Passport Picture:
