St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Rochester business owner has run out of appeals. The Minnesota Supreme Court today rejected an appeal filed by Christopher Holloway after the Minnesota Court of Appeals rejected his attempts to overturn his conviction on third and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charges.

Holloway, who owned and operated a downtown Rochester coffee shop when his criminal offenses occurred, was prosecuted for sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy. He was arrested in December 2014 after the boy's mother returned home and found the then 44-year-old man in bed with her son. Holloway was sentenced to eight months in jail and 10 years on probation.

His appeal included a challenge of the constitutionality of a state law that limits a defendant's ability to use a "mistake of age" defense to cases where there is less than 10 years difference in the ages of the victim and the suspect.
