Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -The law almost caught up with a Rochester-area man who police say has a history of stealing vehicles.

Motor vehicle theft warrants have been issued by Olmsted and Wabasha counties for the arrest of 26-year-old Jacob Bothun of Eyota.  The Olmsted case involves a vehicle that was stolen from a Rochester auto sales business in February.

He was spotted by a Rochester police officer Monday night driving a pickup truck on North Broadway. Bothun took off at a high rate of speed through a residential neighborhood and the officer broke off the chase.

The truck he was driving was spotted behind Bothun’s parents’ house in Eyota Tuesday morning but he was not located.
