Rochester Braces for Crowd with Return of Big Outdoor Bash

The temps are starting to pop, and Minnesotans are ready to shake off their cabin fever and get outside.

Very soon, Rochester will come alive as people start gathering on restaurant patios, hanging out at Thursdays Downtown, enjoying live music at Riverside Concerts, and cheering on the Honkers at Mayo Field.

The wait for outdoor fun is almost over. In fact, the first big outdoor bash of the year is less than two weeks away and a massive crowd is expected.

The Tap House is bringing back its popular Beer Street Social, which has kind of become the unofficial kick-off to summer for the downtown area.

This event isn’t just for beer lovers, it’s open to anyone who wants to hang out, enjoy some great food, drinks, and live music.

This is the 13th annual block party, which is wild to think about - I remember when it first started! Each year has gotten bigger and better, and this year they'll have tasty tacos, live bands, and plenty of beer and cocktails to go around.

Featured breweries include BlackStack Brewing and Toppling Goliath and The Avey Grouws Band, and Six Mile Grove will be playing throughout the night.

The 12th Annual Tap House Beer Street Social is happening Friday, May 2nd, 2025, from 5:00 to 10:30 PM on 3rd Street in downtown Rochester.
