It is official. Minnesota Twins fans will be able to pass through the gates of Target Field again on Opening Day.

The Minnesota Twins posted a video on social media Friday morning of several players talking about the energy the fans bring to the ballpark each and every game and how excited they are for them to be back. The smell of the fresh-cut grass, hot dogs, and nachos are not far away!

According to The Atheltic's Aaron Gleeman, 10,000 fans will be allowed at Target Field to watch the Twins kickoff the 2021 season at home on April 8th when the Twins host the Seattle Mariners.

The Twins also had a statement on their website in regard to the new state guidelines released by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Minnesota Department of Health.

“The Minnesota Twins organization is thrilled that the new state guidelines announced today by Governor Tim Walz and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) pave the way for the safe return of our fans to Target Field for the upcoming 2021 season, beginning with our April 8 home opener.

“Our singular focus remains on the health, safety and well-being of every person that enters Target Field; to that end, we are currently reviewing the new guidance to ensure our comprehensive re-opening plan adheres to all MDH and Minneapolis Health Department directives. We will announce next steps, including our full ballpark protocols and ticket plans, in the very near future.

“We appreciate the continued partnership and dialogue with Governor Walz, MDH and City of Minneapolis officials throughout this process, and cannot wait to safely welcome Major League Baseball’s best fans back into Target Field. Win Twins!”

The Minnesota Vikings are also aiming to host a full U.S Bank Stadium when the 2021 season kicks off in the fall, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

Gov. Walz will host a press conference at 11 a.m. Friday morning speaking on "turning the dial" and loosening restrictions across the state. You can listen to the Governor's press conference on News Talk 1340 KROC-AM and 96.5-FM starting just before 11 a.m.
