I am NOTORIOUS for letting fall fly by and getting our outdoor family photos done....after snow has hit. While they have turned out fine, now is the time to get the BEST colors of fall for your family photos right here in Rochester, for FREE!

1.) On Your Own Property

You can really fake a good scene right in your own backyard (or front yard!). It's free, is convenient, it's comfortable! And if you have trees changing colors, it's a bonus! Most phones can take a snapshot like this!

This is sort of in my backyard and it's my go-to every year. See what I mean about not getting out there before snow! It could be any day now. Regardless, there are plenty of places backdrops of trees and the creek plus places to "perch" like tree logs and benches.

This is our destination this year! (I'm finally planning ahead). There is no admission fees and offers places with pumpkins (like above), the orchard and the corn fields that make for cool backdrops. An overcast day is a great time to snap some good photos there.

4) Silver Lake Park

This area has plenty of places for people to get some great photos with trees or water in the background. You will have plenty of places to choose from around this lake and along the pathways and parks.

5) Downtown Scenes

With a good creative eye, you can add the downtown vibe to any of your photos. The Peace Plaza is great for some iconic Rochester shots but try grabbing an alleyway for a rugged brick background or head to the top of a parking ramp and get the skyline!
