Lindsay Ell kicked off the "Down By The Riverside" summer concert series in Rochester on Sunday night. The free shows attract thousands to Mayo Park each Sunday evening and the series runs through August 15th. You can see the other artists that will be performing this summer at the bottom of this story.

It was a beautiful night for an outdoor concert and fans showed up with lawn chairs and coolers full of their favorite beverages to listen to the country star. Ell put on an amazing show. Immediately after the concert, we started to receive questions from curious listeners wondering what happened to her foot. The singer was wearing a black walking boot while on stage.

What Happened To Lindsay Ell's Foot?

Ell told Entertainment Tonight that she broke her foot chasing after her dog, "I was chasing after my dog! She got out of the bus, we left the bus door open and she just went plummeting out of it. Naturally, like any dog owner, [I ran] after her, but I was in socks. I jumped from the top step of the bus onto the parking lot and I just landed wrong... I broke it pretty good."

Ell posted pictures from the doctor's office on her Instagram:

This is the 29th year the city's music department has produced the outdoor concert series. Each year they showcase local, state, and regional talent and feature national acts too. This year is no different. You can see the performance schedule which includes country, 90s pop/rock, and classic rock headliners below.
