With 4th of July Looming, Minnesota Has Alarming Number of DWI’s Already
I think it's safe to say we have a problem here.
Independence Day has always been considered one of the most dangerous holidays to be on the roads. According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, there are more DWI arrests per hour on the fourth of July than any other holiday with 3.9 PER HOUR. What's even scarier is this:
By my Minnesota math that means we're pacing to hit a horrifying 26,000 DWI's.
This is getting ridiculous. I mean with all the ride-share programs out there like Uber, Lyft, Auto Pilots and Double D's Designated Drivers, plus Yellow Cab and Med City Taxi there's PLENTY of options to get a safe ride home... and I found all those options just by doing a simple Google search!
I always sleep with my phone right by my bed in the case one of my friends needing a lift after a night out, so let's all celebrate our Independence this year by being responsible and calling for that sober ride home.
Here's another friendly head's up: There will be increased enforcement of speeding violations starting July 6-22 throughout Minnesota.
