The 2024 Worst Schools in Minnesota Have Been Revealed

It's mid-July and we're already starting to see back-to-school items hit the shelves in stores in Minnesota. It's crazy and seems so early but before we know it the school year will be here again.

Every parent hopes they're sending their child to a good school. A school that they enjoy going to, where they have friends, and they learn at a good pace for them. And while we have plenty of amazing schools in our state, there are some that seem to fall a little flat according to the data.

How the Worst Schools in Minnesota Were Determined

The data was collected and studied by Niche. I have no personal vendetta against any of these schools, I'm merely the messenger!

If you aren't familiar with Niche, they rank schools and towns across the country and give them a letter grade A through D. In order to determine these letter grades, there's a lot that goes into it.

First, they look at reviews on Niche of that particular school or place. They also collect "the most up-to-date data available from dozens of public data sources". From there, their Data Team analyzes and does their fancy computer stuff to sift through all of the information they have.

Next, Niche looks at what they've found and compares it to what is the industry standard. Then they determine letter grades for each area of importance plus an overall final grade.

And from all of that, we now have schools from all across Minnesota ranked for 2024.

Some schools didn't have a letter grade so they were automatically disqualified from this list. These are the 10 worst K-12 schools in Minnesota for 2024 according to Niche:
