The chair was in decent shape, but was pretty banged up, and the cushion was super stained. Since I have no need for a rocking chair right now, I decided to transform it into a gift for my expecting best friend.
I sanded all the glossy stain off the chair. Then I spray painted it, and put on a new cushion (outdoor one so the baby doesn't ruin it), and voila. This is what it looks like now:
