Your Next iPhone Might Fire Laser Beams

Apple has filed a patent for a new piece of laser technology for its phones. The laser would be inside the phone and used with built in motion sensors to generate a map of any surface it is pointed at.

So how could you use this new feature? The lasers could create 3-D maps of rooms and furniture so people could use it to map their room and work out where new items of furniture may fit.  Learn more about it, here.
