We carry them with us pretty much at all times here in Minnesota, and now a new study says our trusty phones could the perfect breeding ground for the coronavirus.

We use our cell phones and mobile devices all the time-- especially since we've been stuck at home here in Minnesota. They're great at helping us stay in touch. And now a new study confirms that, yeah, they're also probably pretty great in helping to spread COVID-19.

Or, could be, anyway. And it makes sense, when you think about it. I mean, we're ALWAYS touching them, they're warm, we keep them with us at all times, so they're around people. Yikes. It's like a little mobile petri dish, right?

This Ladders.com story says the coronavirus behind our current pandemic can live on smartphone screens for as long as 96 hours-- or four full days, should you come in contact with it. Yuck!

However, there ARE some things you can do to try to make sure that iPhone of yours isn't unknowingly getting you, or anyone else, sick. This CBS News story has some advice on how to keep your phone clean each day:

Apple recommends using 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes or Clorox wipes to effectively clean the exterior of iPhones. Before cleaning the device, make sure it is switched off and unplugged. If the wipes do not successfully clean the phone, Apple suggests using a soft, lint-free cloth, such as a lens cloth, with warm soapy water to clean the phone while avoiding getting moisture in the openings, such as the headphone jack or charging port.

They also said Samsung passed along similar tips for keeping your Android phone germ-free. (You can read more about their recommendations HERE.) And, of course, wash your hands too!
