100 Year Old Vikings Fan Got the Surprise of Her Life [VIDEO]
It doesn't get any better than this.
The stage is set: It's New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings this Sunday for the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs at the future home of Super Bowl LII, U.S. Bank Stadium.
No doubt it's going to be a raucous sell-out crowd with thoughts of revenge from 2009 fresh in fan's heads and hearts.
But one fan in particular will also be amongst the purple faithful when the game kicks off, and it's all thanks to an unlikely gifter: Her favorite team.
WARNING: Tissue Alert!
“You’ve gotta be kidding,” Millie said.
It's hard not to get choked up watching that, especially since it'll be her 100th birthday! That's so awesome.
According to FOX 9, Millie's attended a few Vikings games at the Metrodome and the old Met Stadium, and has even made a Lambeau Field road trip. But she’s never seen a Vikings game at U.S. Bank Stadium. Now, she’ll be in the crowd for the biggest game yet in the new stadium.
I grew up watching a lot of Vikings games with my late grandfather, and that's a big reason I'm such a die-hard fan today. But even when we couldn't watch a game together as I got older and moved away, I would still call him afterwards and talk football with him. I knew how much he loved it and it brought a lot of joy to both me and him. Makes me sad if/when the Vikings finally do win the big game, I won't be able to call him because he'd be the first person I'd want to talk to...
So it's my wish that Millie here gets a big ol' "W" for her birthday, so she can share it with all her grandkids for years to come... SKOL Millie, and Happy Birthday!
