4 Minnesota Acts that are up for Grammys this Weekend
We all love rooting for the home team, right? Here are four acts from Minnesota that have been nominated to win Grammy awards this year.
The Okee Dokee Brothers are up for Best Children's Album. The Okee Dokees, from Minneapolis, were in Rochester last year at this time for a special Winterfest concert at John Marshall High School. The group is fantastic and has received Grammy recognition before. They won 'Best Children's Album" in 2013 for Can You Canoe?
The R&B group KING is nominated in the Best Urban Contemporary Album category. Two-thirds of the trio -Twins Amber and Paris Strother - are from Minnesota.
Mint Condition from St. Paul is nominated for Best R&B Album. If you listened to 106.9 KROC in the early 90s you might remember this St. Paul group. They formed in 1989, and gained national attention in 1992 with the song 'Breakin' My Heart,' which hit #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
And the late, great Prince is nominated for a Grammy. He is up for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
