What Are ‘Airport Rules’ and Why It’s Trending in Minnesota
There's a trend that has been blowing up on TikTok recently and Minnesotans are catching on. This may be a trend you've heard of or maybe you already do this and didn't even know there was a name for it now!

'Airport rules' is now trending. But why? What are 'airport rules' and what does it entail?
What Are 'Airport Rules'?
Since I'm, apparently, not hip and didn't know about this trend I needed to do some Googling.
When I Googled 'airport rules', rules from the TSA popped up. The main thing was what you can and cannot bring on a plane.
For example, with liquids, you're only allowed one quart-sized bag per person in your carry-on and the liquids need to be 3.4 ounces or less. TSA also reminds you that you may need to remove any electronics from your bag and you also may need to remove your shoes.
They even give some tips for packing too. They say to pack in layers (shoes, then clothes, then electronics) and to make sure your electronics are on top so they're easy to take out at security.
Despite all of that being useful information, this is not the 'airport rules' trend that's going around right now.
'Airport Rules' Trend
The trend 'airport rules' refers to how you behave when you're at an airport or going on vacation.
When you're at the airport if you have time before your flight and you're tired go ahead and take a nap with no regrets.
Maybe you want a cocktail before noon because you're going on vacation. No judgement!
There's a restaurant at the airport selling your favorite unhealthy meal? Go for it.
These are 'airport rules'. And the trend is to follow these 'rules' even when you're not at an airport or going on vacation. If you've had a rough few days and need a break from everything, give yourself an 'airport rules' day.
So basically, do whatever you want. Take that nap in the middle of the day, have a margarita before noon. Whatever it is you'd do at an airport/on vacation that you wouldn't usually do at home is an 'airport rule'. The next time you need a day off, try this out!
