This morning, a clip from Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives popped up on my Facebook feed, and of course, I had to watch. The caption said it was about a Minnesota pizza place, and honestly, I’m always up for pizza – even more now after seeing Guy Fieri rave about it.

If you're a fan of the Food Network, you’ve probably seen local spots and chefs featured on shows like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives or Guy’s Grocery Games. You can see a full list of Minnesota restaurants showcased on the TV channel at the bottom of this story.

Guy Fieri’s Favorite Minnesota Restaurants You Need to Try

Guy Fieri is famous for sampling all kinds of dishes from local favorites to hidden gems, and several Minnesota have earned his stamp of approval.

Guy was hunting for authentic Mexican food a few years ago when fans suggested a dish at a Minnesota restaurant that stunned him. He said, “There’s no way we’re in Minnesota.” Find out more about that restaurant here: Guy Fieri Couldn't Believe This Restaurant Was in Minnesota.

Another spot that blew Guy away is Victor’s 1959 Café, a beloved local diner with a strong following. Guy was so impressed with the food that he declared, “If you live within 500 miles of this joint, make a vacation out of it.”  Learn more about why Guy Fieri loves this place here: Guy Fieri: This Minnesota Restaurant is Worth a 500-Mile Drive.

There’s also a Minnesota diner Guy Fieri has featured multiple times. While it may not look like much on the outside, Guy warns not to judge this restaurant by its appearance. It’s one of the most iconic diners in the state, offering food that far exceeds expectations. Sure, pizza might be an Italian classic, but let’s be real: Americans can’t get enough of it. According to Slice Life, the average American eats 46 slices of pizza a year – that’s about 23 pounds of pizza!

With kids at home, pizza is a regular in my dinner lineup, so you could say we're definitely above average. And, after seeing Guy Fieri’s glowing review on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, I’m adding this joint to my must-try list.

Pizzeria Lola has been called the best pizza in Minnesota by Food & Wine and Reader’s Digest. Their backstory: a Korean immigrant, inspired by her love for food and her mom’s cooking, left her day job to open a neighborhood wood-fired pizzeria – and named it after her dog, Lola.

If you’re in Minneapolis, you can check them out at 5557 Xerxes Ave S.
