How You Can Cook w/ Popular Minnesota Chefs to Help Fight Anti-Asian Racism
Popular Minnesota Asian American chefs and bartenders from the Twin Cities area have teamed up for 'Minnesota Rice'. It's a fundraiser where a ticket gets you access to videos and recipes from these popular chefs. 100% of ticket sales will go to the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL), which is out of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Here's how 'Minnesota Rice' works. You'll need to buy a ticket, which costs $100. That ticket will get you access to seven different instructional videos that will be released throughout the month of May, which is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The seven videos will guide you through the recipes that you'll get sent along with the video. It's not a live event so you can watch the videos and follow along whenever you have time.

Let's talk a little more about CAAL, the organization that is getting 100% of ticket sales. On the site for 'Minnesota Rice' they write, "CAAL is a social justice network of over 4000 leaders with a mission to harness our collective power to improve the lives of community by connecting, learning, and acting together."
The food and drinks that the chefs and bartenders will be teaching include old school Chinese clay pot rice with chicken, Chinese sausage, and shiitakes from John Ng & Lina Goh. You'll also learn how to make a basil seed collins with gin, lime, honey, pandan, and seltzer from Dustin Nguyen. Both sound so good!
