Jackass Star Bringing His Comedy Tour To Rochester
There are moments that time slaps you in the face to remind you how old you are. This is one of those moments for me - Jackass first aired on MTV 24-years ago.
Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville quickly became famous for their stunt-based reality show and eventually turned the show into several movies. Since then, Steve-O has become a New York Times best-selling author and started a career in stand-up comedy. His “The Bucket List” tour is coming to Rochester this summer.
HISTORY OF JACKASS
Jackass was only on MTV for about two years, but despite the short run the show gained a significant following and laid the groundwork for a pop-culture franchise.
After the show's conclusion, Jackass produced several spin-offs and five feature films. The first film, "Jackass: The Movie" (2002), was a commercial success, grossing over $60 million on a $5 million budget.
Subsequent films like "Jackass Number Two" (2006) and "Jackass 3D" (2010) continued this trend, with each release topping the box office. The franchise also produced compilation films like "Jackass 2.5" (2007) and "Jackass 3.5" (2011), which included unused footage from the main films.
The latest installment, "Jackass Forever" (2022), marked a return after a decade, continuing the legacy of outrageous stunts and pranks with both old and new cast members.
