Local Pool Desperately Seeking Lifeguards
The Byron pool is facing a real threat. If they don't find enough lifeguards the result is one of two things:
1. They open without lifeguards.
2. They don't open at all!
A city of Byron official told us that they have less than two weeks to find a dozen lifeguards. They're hopeful it happens soon because next week they'll have to discuss their options with Bryon City Council.
They're also looking for WSI - Water Safety Instructors to help with swimming lessons.
Who wouldn't want to sit by the pool all day and work on your tan? They pay $10.50 an hour. WSI get paid $11.50 an hour. City officials told the Post Bulletin that "lifeguards in Byron can get free things such as clothes and swim gear too." Help us spread the word, and make sure there's a fun and safe place for the kiddos this summer.
You must be at least 15 years old to apply. They are taking applications via their website, or you can stop by city hall.
