Minnesota State Fair Officially Back in Full Swing this Summer
The State Fair is Back!
The Minnesota State Fair made the huge announcement earlier today that the Great Minnesota Get-Back-Together is officially on for 2021! I'm. So. Excited! And it's looking like everything will be back in full swing this summer.
They posted the big news on their social media accounts earlier today. The state fair dates for this summer are August 26th through September 6th. As you can imagine people are freaking out, including myself. I'm a huge state fair fan so it's extremely exciting to hear that we'll all be able to get back to the fairgrounds this summer.
Will There Be a Limit to the Number of People Allowed in the Fair?
I had been wondering if there was going to be a limit to the number of people they allow into the fair this year. Maybe they'd do a lottery, like they did with events this past year, or if they'd sell x amount of tickets and everyone else is out of luck. But the state fair's website says "There is not a lottery to purchase tickets, and we do not anticipate a daily attendance limit at the 2021 State Fair."
What Do I Do if I Bought a Ticket to Last Year's Fair?
If you purchased a ticket in advance for last year's fair, obviously it didn't get used because the fair got canceled. If you still have that ticket the state fair's website says you're allowed to bring that ticket with you to the fairgrounds, they'll be able to scan it and let you in. Easy enough!
Things Can Still Change, Though
While things are looking very promising, if for some reason group sizes need to be limited again or other COVID protocols need to go back into place, the state fair will re-evaluate their decision. If that happens they'll keep us all up to date on their website and social media accounts. Of course, there will be lots of cleaning and sanitizing and there will be hand sanitizer stations around the fairgrounds. Also, if you test positive for COVID, you're experiencing COVID-like symptoms, or you've come in close contact with someone with COVID within 14 days leading up to attending the fair, the Minnesota State Fair asks that you stay home and do not attend.
