Minnesota State Fair Attendance Record
After every day of the Great Minnesota Get-Together, there's a final headcount that gets released the following afternoon.
There's a whole section on the state fair's website dedicated to keeping track of the current year's attendance numbers, the two years prior, and the all-time records.
Now, I know I'm a little insane for how much I love the state fair, but, no lie, I've been checking the state fair attendance numbers nearly every day. I know, but I was so convinced that we would break multiple records this year.

The reason I keep thinking that is because of how perfect the weather is! There's a reason we sometimes call it the Great Minnesota Sweat-Together, because there's always at least a day or two that's just insanely hot. But this year, the weather has been beautiful so far and it looks like it'll continue to be that way.
So I thought for sure that with the nice weather, more people would go out to the fair. I was also convinced that this past weekend would be massive. And it was, but not record-breaking.
But finally, on Monday, we broke an attendance record.
Minnesota State Fair Broke an Attendance Record
We absolutely crushed last year's Monday attendance number, which was only 80,546. It must have been a stormy or super hot day. But we barely beat the previous record, which was set in 2017.
On the first Monday of the fair in 2017, the record was broken with 144,504 people. The first Monday of the fair this year, though, barely squeaked in a record-breaking day with 145,022.
I still believe that we'll break at least one more attendance record this year. Also, if you're planning on going to the fair, make a plan to try some of the new food! Here are all of the new foods for this year.
