Popular Chain in Minnesota Starts Shutting Down Restaurants
Red Lobster started 56 years ago in Lakeland, Florida. It became really popular and expanded across the entire country in the 1980s. There are now around 650 Red Lobster restaurants, with 11 of them in Minnesota.
However, recently, Red Lobster hasn't been doing so well. According to reports from Bloomberg, Red Lobster's financial situation has been hurt by expensive lease agreements, high labor costs, and other issues. While we don't know exactly how bad things are for the chain, we do know that they've started shutting down several restaurants. You can see the list of closures below.
The restaurant famous for its unlimited shrimp deals and cheddar bay biscuits is facing some tough times and considering filing for bankruptcy. Several Red Lobsters have closed this week.
