Viral Build-Your-Own Mac ‘n Cheese Place is Coming to Minnesota

Where are my fellow lactose-intolerant people at? We need to grab our Lactaid, because have you heard the news? There's a viral mac 'n cheese place opening two locations in Minnesota, and I'm so excited to check it out!

Somehow, I missed this news when it was first announced, but since I just found out about it, I needed to share it with you in case you missed it too.

Viral Mac 'n Cheese Restaurant, Roni's Mac Bar, Opening in Minnesota

The place is called Roni's Mac Bar. There are only a few locations across the country, but it's rapidly growing because of its popularity on TikTok.

Roni's is pretty simple: You get to build your own, perfect mac 'n cheese. It's like when you go to Chipotle or something, and you can tell them exactly what you want in your burrito.

The first location that will be opening in Minnesota will be at the Mall of America.

There's no official opening date yet, but the Mall of America's website says 'Opening Soon'. There's a post on Instagram by The Development Tracker, Minneapolis, from back in September that said the MOA location would open 'later this fall,' but fall is far behind us now, so hopefully the opening date will be right around the corner.

The second location will be in Dinkytown in Minneapolis. That one will open after the MOA location gets up and running.

Building Your Own Mac 'n Cheese at Roni's Mac Bar

To get you excited, let's take a peek at the build-your-own-mac options at Roni's. They have a location in Ames, IA, so I peeked at their online ordering to see what the options are.

Cheese Options: cheddar, pepper jack, alfredo, or a mix

Meat Options: grilled chicken, pulled pork, brisket, bacon, and ham

Topping Options: broccoli, corn, onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, pineapple, parmesan, breadcrumbs, chives, and crushed Doritos

Drizzle Options: BBQ, garlic parmesan, buffalo, pesto, ranch, hot honey, and sour cream

I would absolutely go with pepper jack, probably some broccoli, chives, maybe throw in some bell peppers, and I might have to go with garlic parmesan. Oh man, now I want some mac 'n cheese...

They also have build-your-own grilled cheese sandwiches and build-your-own baked potatoes. Yum!
