A New Donut Shop is Opening Soon in NW Rochester, Minnesota

A brand new donut shop is in the works for NW Rochester, Minnesota but it is NOT in a spot that you'd expect.  If you take a drive on 19th Street NW in Rochester, you'll notice quite a few newer places that have been built recently by the Rochester Athletic Club, including Collins Orthodontists.  Not only are smiles being transformed at Collins Othrodontists but thanks to some delicious donuts, more kids are going to have a chance at those amazing smiles too!

Here's Our Story

It isn't our sugaring process perfected by the Master Chef Finalist, Shari Mukherjee, that makes every sharkbite so wildly satisfying.  Every bite and beverage purchased at The Donut supports the Adopt-A-Shark Program at Collins Orthodontics which gives free braces to local pediatric cancer survivors.  It's that impact in Rochester that makes every donut so easy to sink your teeth into...

Knowing that a simple thing like eating a donut can help kids with cancer through the Adopt A Shark program at Collins Orthodontics...it means more to me than maybe most.

My little sister was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 10.  When you hear people say the financial struggle is tough when you have a loved one fighting cancer, well, I remember multiple garbage bags full of medical bill statements when my sister was fighting for her life. We were just trying to have food to eat and enough gas money to get to the appointments to help save her life.

When will The Donut open up at Collins Orthodontist in Rochester, Minnesota?

I've been curious when the new shop will be opening up and reached out to the team at Collins Orthodontist to see if they could give me an update.  Here's when they are planning on opening in Rochester.

We are gearing up to open in a 3-phase plan. Phase I, our current stage, consists of opening at selected times for our patients and their families. Phase II will consist of being open full days for our patients and their families. Then lastly, Phase III will have The Donut open to the public.

Once I hear that The Donut is open, I'll share the update over on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.

New mural in Rochester, Minnesota has a purpose...and it is WAY bigger than getting great selfies!

I love all the art, especially the murals that are around Rochester, Minnesota.  We've got quite a few hidden in town but if you have a chance, go take a selfie at the "Wings of Hope" art outside of Collins Orthodontics.  Not only is this a fun place to grab a selfie but the purpose  - it's way bigger than just a great selfie.  You can read more about that here.

Although I can't go eat a donut every day or take a selfie, we can all help spread the love and help these kiddos and families out that have heard the word "cancer".  And taking a selfie is easy.  Another way to help these kids that are facing life-changing illnesses is to just share this story, and then your friend will see it and they will go take a selfie...and you can be part of this selife snowball that will help kids who are some of the bravest kiddos around.
