Why Southern Minnesota is Better than Northern Minnesota
Don't get me wrong, I think Duluth is beautiful and all but, all things considered, Southern Minnesota is way better than Northern Minnesota!
Everyone probably has their own reasons for loving Southern Minnesota but here are my 5 reasons Southern Minnesota is better than Northern Minnesota.
- 1
The Weather is Better
Most of the time we get less snow and warmer weather down in the southern half of the state! We don't need winter to be any longer than it already is.
- 2
We Have the Mall of America Close By
You can shop at all of the stores your heart desires and your kids can have a BLAST at Nickelodeon Universe! And it's only about an hour and a half away!
- 3
Our Accents Aren't As Obvious
I'm not hating on Minnesotan accents! Sometimes mine gets really bad, dontcha know, but at least it's not nearly as bad as Nothern Minnesotans, with their long "o" sounds and Ole and Lena jokes.

We Have Better Night Life
We have the Twin Cities pretty close by and Rochester itself is a great place to go out for a night with the girls! We have loads of options compared to the north where they have, like, Duluth and that's about it.

Proximity to Everything is Better
Again, we aren't too far from the Twin Cities and almost any store we could ask for is a short drive away. In Northern Minnesota sometimes it can take 45 minutes to get to the nearest Target! (This is a true story, when I lived in Morris the closest Target was 45 minutes away and it was awful).
