My wife and I have been married for going on 26 years. I haven't checked the Hallmark chart, but I think that might be "Purple Heart". Or is that uncommon valor, above and beyond the call of duty? I can never keep that straight.

The American Sociological Association has found that more women go for divorce than men. 69% of breakups that ended in divorce were started by women. Ladies also accounted for less marital bliss than men.

Why?

Study author Michael Rosenfeld, Ph.D., says that women are not as satisfied in marriage as men are. He's not talking about what you might be thinking about. He says that men enjoy "crucial privileges" in marriage that women do not.

He cites Pew Research that shows that in a dual-income marriage, the wife pulls double duty at the end of the day.

Yep. It all comes down to chores and housework.

The best advice for a remedy is to be equal partners. Communication is the key. Evaluating the "his" and "hers" to-do list, with regular evaluations is an important step.
