Summer is officially here. I want to be outside all day and night this time of year, so my calendar is loaded with activities. My family is obsessed with going to the movies. We love it even more when it's free (and outside). Here are three places you can check out a free movie under the stars this summer:

1. Kasson movies in the park

They are showing Moana tonight, Secondhand Lions on June 29th and Homeward Bound on July 6th. The movie starts at 9 pm at Kasson Veterans Memorial Park. Just bring your blankets and snacks and enjoy the show.

2. Target Field Station

You can check out movies all summer long right outside of Target Field at the amphitheater. Their next showing is Wednesday, June 27th when they show one of my all-time favorite flicks - Space Jam.

3. Rochester Movies in the Park

Head to Historic Central Park for a free movie. On July 21st they are showing Jumanji, August 18th - Coco, and September 15th - Safe Haven. It's absolutely free, but there will be movie-inspired food and drink available for purchase beginning at 7 PM. The movies begin at 9 PM.

But wait, there's more...

If you don't mind spending a couple bucks, I highly recommend heading up to Lake Elmo where you'll find ValiHi Drive-In. It's only $1 for kids 6-12. They show 3 movies every night, and you get to see them all (if you can stay awake that long).
