Panera Bread is voluntarily recalling some cream cheese it sells at its bakery-cafes after samples of one of its 2 oz. cream cheese products because of possible bacterial contamination.

According to NPR, the preemptive recall affects all unexpired 2 oz. and 8 oz. cream cheese products with an expiration date on or before 4/2/18. The company had made its decision "out of an abundance of caution" after samples of one of its cream cheese varieties tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

The company notes that "no illnesses have been reported."

Affected 2 oz. varieties include: Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Chive & Onion Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Honey Walnut Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Wild Blueberry Cream Cheese.

Affected 8 oz. varieties include: Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Chive & Onion Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Honey Walnut Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Wild Blueberry Cream Cheese.
