Minnesota Chef Competes For $20K On Guy Fieri’s Show
My wife and I absolutely love the Food Network, and we're constantly binge-watching Guy Fieri's shows, especially "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives." We've even gone on trips to check out some of the restaurants that Guy features on the show. If you're curious, there's a complete list of all the eateries showcased on the Food Network below.
Another popular show hosted by Guy Fierri is "Guy's Grocery's Games" which features chefs from around the country creating dishes using unconventional ingredients from the grocery store aisles. A Minnesota chef recently competed on an episode dedicated to seafood dishes.
Josh Thoma from Smack Shack appeared on Guy's Grocery Games (S35 E10 -SEAFOOD) to compete against 3 other chefs. The Smack Shack known for its award-winning lobster rolls started as a Food Truck and began serving food at the 1029 Bar in January 2011.
In November 2011, Guy Fieri showed up to feature the food on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and business exploded.
Now the "casual, coastal restaurant" is located in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis with a second location in Bloomington.
