Rochester Public Schools Begin Distance Learning

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - You may notice an absence of school buses in Rochester.
There’s a reason.
Rochester Public Schools last week decided to transition to distance learning due to the continued surge in covid activity in the community, beginning Tuesday.
RPS says the decision was based primarily on the impact the virus is having on staff, not students. RPS said last week “Students will return to in-person learning on Monday, January 31. “
Interim Superintendent Kent Pekel said, “Two weeks allows all sick students and staff and those who have been exposed and are incubating the virus to progress to being non-infectious by the time school resumes.”
