Sandcastle World Championship Coming to Wisconsin

Building a sand castle is a fun activity that kids love doing at the beach, and it some even carry that talent into adulthood and compete in contests like the big one coming to Wisconsin this summer.

The Sandcastle World Championships will bring some of the top artists in the world to compete with intricate, huge sand sculptures that organizers claims will be like nothing ever seen before in Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee Sand Fest is a multi-day event that will not only feature the top sand artists in the world making creations out of 500 tons of sand, but will also feature activities like "Build your own sandcastle", a kids zone, food trucks, beer garden and live music between August 1st and 4th.

Tickets for the event are $14.99 for adults and $12.99 for kids aged 3-2 for Thursday and tickets for Friday–Sunday are $19.99 for adults and kids will be $14.99. The Sandcastle World Championships and the Lakefront Beach Festival will be held at McKinley Beach.

Event organizers point out that the entire event takes place on a beach with sand, so some visitors may find it difficult to attend the event, for instance, wheelchair bound visitors may find attending the event hard.

There are several different competitions being held for the Sandcastle World Championships including, solo, duo, and an 80-hour team building competition, in which teams build gigantic sculptures over multiple days.
