We recently reported that David Arquette, best known for his role in the Scream franchise, was spotted taking photos with fans at the Apache Mall in Rochester, and later learned why the star was in southeast Minnesota.

Arquette and Alexa Swinton (Old, Thunderbolts) are in the area filming a new indie drama called Wreckless.

The movie is set in rural Minnesota and the plot follows a recovering addict father (Arquette) and his daughter (Swinton) as they try to rebuild their relationship through the demolition derby circuit.

Extras Needed for David Arquette Movie Being Filmed in Southeast Minnesota

Instead of faking Minnesota on a Hollywood soundstage, the filmmakers chose to shoot in communities around Southeast Minnesota and now they're asking locals to be a part of filming. Will from Indoor Feeling Films reached out to let us know that the production team is searching for extras for two upcoming shoot dates:

  • Wednesday, August 26th: Owatonna Fairgrounds
  • Thursday, August 27th: Goodhue Co. Fairgrounds in Zumbrota, MN

On-set participants will get a front-row seat to watch a staged demolition derby featuring professional stunt drivers.

Will told me they're looking for all ages and backgrounds. He said filming will run for about eight hours, but volunteers are welcome to come and go. This isn't a paid gig, but free pizza will be provided for everyone on set.

If you love demo derbies, or just want to hang out and potentially end up on screen alongside David Arquette, this is your chance. Tap here to sign up.
