Boston Firm Hired to Create New Slogan for Rochester
Say goodbye to Rah-Rah-Rochester...
According to the Post Bulletin, "The Rochester Convention and Visitors Bureau, Mayo Civic Center and the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission, have hired a Boston-based firm to create a new "brand platform" for those organizations and the city as a whole."
Why a Boston firm? Wouldn't a local company have a better understanding of the city, it's people and personality? A ton of people are asking the same question online and quite upset about the decision to use an outsider... again.
The Post Bulletin says the same criticism was present in 2006 when a Milwaukee agency was hired and developed Rah-Rah-Rochester. Does anyone even like Rah-Rah? Every time I hear it, or use the phrase, it's in a sarcastic way.
The new slogan is expected to be completed by May.
