People Camp Out for Free Coffee in Rochester

Caribou Coffee & Einstein Bros Bagels opened their newest location in Rochester at 1603 Broadway at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The company offered free bagels and coffee for an entire year to the first 50 in line.

The photo below, taken by Scott Nelson, shows how serious people are when it comes to scoring free stuff. Rochester residents showed up with tents, lawn chairs and sleeping bags and camped out overnight.

Ahmed Makkawy arrived at 12:30 a.m. that day and said there were already 12 people ahead of him in line. Makkawy posted updates on his Facebook page noting the line grew to 50 people at around 3:30 a.m.
