There are over 3,500 Sonic restaurants in the United States, with the closet one being in the Twin Cities. That might soon be changing...

In a recent column, Jeff Kiger from the Rochester Post-Bulletin, wrote that the Med City could land a Sonic as early as two years from now. Kiger spoke to Drew Ritger, the burger chain's senior vice president of development, who said: "We'll soon be actively looking again in your community. We believe it would be a fantastic community for our brand. We don't have, anybody in Rochester yet that has an interest in a franchise yet, but we will be actively seeing what can be done in the next year."

Interested in being the one that brings Sonic to Rochester? You can reach their corporate headquarters for franchise information at (405) 225-5000 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

This isn't the first time that Sonic has teased our taste buds. In 2009, Kiger had a similar column in which Ritger hinted that a Rochester location was in the plans.
